Allegiant Airlines and Capital Region International Airport to Host “Dodge High Fares” Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 3

LANSING – Capital Region International Airport has teamed up with Allegiant Airlines and the National Dodgeball Association to host the “Dodge High Fares” dodgeball tournament, which will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Lansing’s Westside Community YMCA.

LANSING, Mich. – Lansing’s Capital Region International Airport announced today that Haley Kluge, 18, of Delta Township is the winner of the inaugural “Father’s Day Fly Away” Contest.
Kluge, a May 2013 graduate of Grand Ledge High School, will receive a $1,000 Fly Lansing flight voucher after penning a winning essay about her dad, Ed Kluge.

LANSING – Apple Vacations announced today that weekly nonstop service from Lansing’s Capital Region International Airport to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, will continue in 2014.
Apple has decided to extend the winter schedule after concluding a successful vacation season of providing nonstop service to the popular destinations.

Capital Region International Airport is sponsoring a “Fly Lansing Mom’s Day Fly Away” contest in honor of Mother’s Day.
The contest encourages mid-Michigan residents to submit an online essay detailing—in 150 words or less—why their mothers are so special.
The winner will receive a $1,000 travel voucher from Fly Lansing.

DeWITT TWP. — After several years of flight cutbacks, dropped service and high fares that made travel from other cities more affordable, Lansing’s airport is on a bit of an upswing.
Passenger traffic at Capital Region International Airport climbed 8 percent in 2012, airport officials reported, marking the second consecutive year of growth after two years of sharp declines. And airport officials hope to sustain that trend this year, though popular low-fare carrier Southwest Airlines Co.’s entry to into the Flint and Grand Rapids markets could draw passengers away from Lansing.

LANSING – Capital Region International Airport forecasts an increase of approximately 13 percent in total passenger volumes for December 2012 and January 2013 during the winter holiday travel season, based on a year-to-date ridership analysis.
