The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau brings you the 23rd Annual Be A Tourist In Your Own Town celebration! Once again, we open the doors for you to explore a world of family-friendly attractions, right here in mid-Michigan. For only $1 you can purchase a “passport” which allows you admission to more than 90 area attractions, local businesses and special activities.

Visitors to the Capital Region International Airport should begin their airport experience entering through the Main Terminal Entrance.  Information and directions to all airport activities will be provided inside the terminal.

Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the airport, including passenger screening and guided tour of the terminal; emergency and maintenance equipment, including fire trucks and snow plows and even visit the control tower and radar room!

A stop at the airport will also feature the Olds Forge Flyers, one of the country’s oldest flying clubs, will have two planes available for visitors to sit in and dream of being a pilot!

Be sure to visit the airport to be entered to win a $1500 voucher from the Capital Region International Airport!

Long-term parking validation will be provided.

Special Information Regarding Control Tower and Radar Room Tours:

All interested visitors to the Control Tower or Radar Room, that are age 16+, will need to provide a valid driver’s license or other government issued identification. 

All children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult with valid identification.

Visiting the Control Tower will require climbing steep narrow stairs.

Control Tower and Radar Room visits are limited to 10 individuals every ½ hour from 10:00am to 4:30pm.
